Frederik Vandekerkhove could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Gino Van Haeght made a huge save. 11 minutes into the game, Frederik Vandekerkhove recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gino Van Haeght. Frederik Vandekerkhove showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Frederik Vandekerkhove received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Gino Van Haeght tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, comeback's Sylvan Owerckx got a free kick in the 23rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dolf Zimmer in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gino Van Haeght saved comeback from getting behind. Frederik Vandekerkhove sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC De Sloverkes's Frederik Vandekerkhove was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 31st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 34 played minutes comeback got a freekick which was hit by Martijn Smet. Lionel De Haess short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Gino Van Haeght to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lionel De Haes struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Gino Van Haeght didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC De Sloverkes. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The tension between the comeback and the FC De Sloverkes players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC De Sloverkes booed when comeback was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evert Meeuwissen didn't get a good kick on the ball.
