In the 18th minute, Stan Smeulders made a precise shot to the right of Gino Van Haeght. comeback's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. When Chelsea's Boudewijn Dewinter in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Gino Van Haeght tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Didier Demeester during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gino Van Haeght breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wouter Van Meerbek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sylvan Owerckx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boudewijn Dewinter in the 92nd minute of play forced comeback's goalkeeper Gino Van Haeght to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 minutes, Boudewijn Dewinter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chelsea and the comeback players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of comeback booed when Chelsea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boudewijn Dewinter didn't get a good kick on the ball.
