In the 7th minute, Louis Snyers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Liernu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in FC Kroeters's zone, Louis Snyers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claude Renotte came out of the goal and Louis Snyers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 14 minutes in the game, Sprunger Fasting fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Claude Renotte having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Louis Snyers got free with Claude Renotte in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yanniek Matthijs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 30 minutes, Yanniek Matthijs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liernu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yanniek Matthijs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claude Renotte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yanniek Matthijs, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute of the match Liernu got a corner. FC Kroeters's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Yanniek Matthijs ran over to the corner to take the kick. Yanniek Matthijs made a great header on Liernu's corner, it was just that FC Kroeters's Claude Renotte managed to reach the ball for a save. After 35 minutes of play, FC Kroeters's Alex Sproten made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Weverton van Beek was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Tommi De Bruyn managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Kroeters's supporters rose to their feet, but Tommi De Bruyn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Weverton van Beek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sprunger Fasting fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claude Renotte having to interfere. After 41 minutes, Nicolas Van Damme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Kroeters and the Liernu players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd minute, Nicolas Van Damme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claude Renotte didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yanniek Matthijs went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Louis Snyers made a kick off. Claude Renotte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yanniek Matthijs in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Louis Snyers made a precise shot to the right of Claude Renotte. FC Kroeters's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Sebbe Conincx recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claude Renotte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Louis Snyers's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute Yanniek Matthijs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claude Renotte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claude Renotte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yanniek Matthijs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute of the match Liernu got a corner. Claude Renotte made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. In the 86th minute, Yanniek Matthijs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Georges-Philippe Mampaerts's late challenge caught a Liernu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Georges-Philippe Mampaerts helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th match minute, FC Kroeters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Georges-Philippe Mampaerts to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Loid Eggers during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 97 played minutes Liernu got a freekick which was hit by Loid Eggers.
