Robbin Imbrechts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred De Maerschalckx having to interfere. Fred De Maerschalckx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joseph De Vreese, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camiel Huijbrechts kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Angelo Depelsmaker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Fred De Maerschalckx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gaetan Huijbreghts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Camiel Huijbrechts in the 41st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joseph De Vreese in the 43rd minute of play forced Vantegem's goalkeeper Fred De Maerschalckx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Vantegem's goalkeeper Fred De Maerschalckx had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joseph De Vreese. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karel-Jan Robin during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
