The crowd rose to their feet as Vantegem's Sander De Koq slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luuk Schroons. That made the score 1-0 after 4 minutes of play. KSV Wanne's Luuk Schroons proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save KSV Wanne from getting a goal against them. A hard shot 11 in the game by Camiel Huijbrechts from a close distance when the talented Luuk Schroons managed to make a qualified save. KSV Wanne's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, KSV Wanne's Goffrey Lijsens got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute, KSV Wanne's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sander De Koq fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The supporters of KSV Wanne booed when Vantegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gino Tobbackers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camiel Huijbrechts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Luuk Schroons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sander De Koq fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luuk Schroons having to interfere. 31 minutes into the game, Camiel Huijbrechts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Luuk Schroons was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, KSV Wanne's Luuk Schroons got control of the ball when Camiel Huijbrechts tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in KSV Wanne's zone, Camiel Huijbrechts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luuk Schroons came out of the goal and Camiel Huijbrechts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vantegem's Fred De Maerschalckx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeff Sliepers in the 44th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Camiel Huijbrechts got free with Luuk Schroons in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When Camiel Huijbrechts came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Vantegem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Camiel Huijbrechts couldn't finish the play. Camiel Huijbrechts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Camiel Huijbrechts struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Luuk Schroons didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vantegem. Luuk Schroons showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sander De Koq in the 67th minute of the match. Bartjan Hairpoel kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Camiel Huijbrechts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Luuk Schroons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sander De Koq sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camiel Huijbrechts in the 79th minute of play forced KSV Wanne's goalkeeper Luuk Schroons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luuk Schroons came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Vantegem's Sander De Koq. But to his dismay, Sander De Koq quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Jeff Sliepers's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fred De Maerschalckx firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Vantegem's Leon Verdonck got a free kick in the 88th minute. Camiel Huijbrechts struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Luuk Schroons didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vantegem. If Camiel Huijbrechts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vantegem's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
