Charles-Antoine Rijmenants struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Kevin Coenen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KSV Sottegem. KSV Sottegem's Amílton Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristof Van Lier in the 18th minute of play. When SC Rooigem's Kristof Van Lier in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Luc Schoutens might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amílton Paraíba. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luc Schoutens ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of SC Rooigem booed when KSV Sottegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles-Antoine Rijmenants didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute of the match Daan Andriesens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amílton Paraíba skillfully saved the ball. Kevin Coenen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernd Van den Bergen's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. KSV Sottegem's Amílton Paraíba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save KSV Sottegem from getting a goal against them. Amílton Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristof Van Lier in the 41st minute of the match. Amílton Paraíba was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Pascal De Wilde. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Amílton Paraíba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kristof Van Lier's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. 1-1 became the score in the 55th minute when Kristof Van Lier elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Charles-Antoine Rijmenants received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Kevin Coenen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bernd Van den Bergen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wim Leenknecht recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th minute, Bernd Van den Bergen made a precise shot to the right of Kevin Coenen. SC Rooigem's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 80th minute Kristof Van Lier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílton Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kristof Van Lier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Paraíba having to interfere. Kristof Van Lier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amílton Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Leenknecht, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, SC Rooigem's Kristof Van Lier sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amílton Paraíba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 95 minutes, Luc Schoutens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Rooigem and the KSV Sottegem players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luc Schoutens hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernd Van den Bergen in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kevin Coenen saved SC Rooigem from getting behind.
