Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Bernd Van den Bergen got the match started through his kick off. Vantegem's Gino Tobbackers suffered a sore thigh after 3 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 3 minutes, Wim Schaerlaekens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KSV Sottegem and the Vantegem players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vantegem made a substitution. Edward Van Huruck replaced Gino Tobbackers. After a rather tough play, KSV Sottegem's Wim Schaerlaekens got a free kick in the 4th minute. Camiel Huijbrechts who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of Amílton Paraíba when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Edward Van Huruck blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amílton Paraíba having to make a save. After 10 minutes, Bernd Van den Bergen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KSV Sottegem and the Vantegem players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th minute, Bernd Van den Bergen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Edward Van Huruck from long distance, 11 minutes into the match, got Amílton Paraíba's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Billie Van Lier fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KSV Sottegem's protests and gave Billie Van Lier a yellow card for diving instead. Billie Van Lier hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After 16 minutes, Edward Van Huruck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vantegem and the KSV Sottegem players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th match minute, Vantegem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Van Huruck to maneuver through the defense. After 21 played minutes KSV Sottegem got a freekick which was hit by Yoeri Tilens. Sander De Koq shot from long distance in the 22nd minute, but Amílton Paraíba was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Fred De Maerschalckx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernd Van den Bergen in the 24th minute of play. Sander De Koq's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amílton Paraíba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Amílton Paraíba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Camiel Huijbrechts in the 30th minute. Camiel Huijbrechts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to KSV Sottegem getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Billie Van Lier hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Camiel Huijbrechts got free with Amílton Paraíba in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 45 minutes, Camiel Huijbrechts managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vantegem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Camiel Huijbrechts was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amílton Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sander De Koq in the 46th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Camiel Huijbrechts to make the kick off. Sander De Koq recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wim Schaerlaekens hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. If Camiel Huijbrechts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, Camiel Huijbrechts had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amílton Paraíba. KSV Sottegem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Camiel Huijbrechts was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. KSV Sottegem's Amílton Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camiel Huijbrechts in the 71st minute of play. Sander De Koq kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 79th minute Camiel Huijbrechts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílton Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Camiel Huijbrechts managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vantegem's supporters rose to their feet, but Camiel Huijbrechts was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amílton Paraíba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sander De Koq received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Amílton Paraíba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. KSV Sottegem's Amílton Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camiel Huijbrechts in the 86th minute of play. Amílton Paraíba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Camiel Huijbrechts went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 91st minute, Camiel Huijbrechts left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vantegem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Vantegem were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of KSV Sottegem for a fine match.
