Glen Van Meerbek started the match with the kick off. When KSV Wanne's Jeff Sliepers in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye KSV Sottegem's goalie prevented a goal. If Jeff Sliepers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeff Sliepers in the 10th minute of play forced KSV Sottegem's goalkeeper Amílton Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12thth minute of the game Glen Van Meerbek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KSV Sottegem's Amílton Paraíba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 15thth minute of the game Bernd Van den Bergen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KSV Wanne's Luuk Schroons was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Glen Van Meerbek in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amílton Paraíba saved KSV Sottegem from getting behind. If Jeff Sliepers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, KSV Sottegem's goal looked a bit too open when Jeff Sliepers came free, but Amílton Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jeff Sliepers came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the KSV Wanne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeff Sliepers couldn't finish the play. Bernd Van den Bergen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luuk Schroons having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Bernd Van den Bergen made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Glen Van Meerbek in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amílton Paraíba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, KSV Wanne's Amílton Paraíba threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Glen Van Meerbek, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Amílton Paraíba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glen Van Meerbek, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Jeff Sliepers who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Amílton Paraíba when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Matthis Imbrechts hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind KSV Sottegem's goalkeeper Amílton Paraíba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. KSV Sottegem's Amílton Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glen Van Meerbek in the 83rd minute of play. When Jeff Sliepers came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the KSV Wanne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeff Sliepers couldn't finish the play. Amílton Paraíba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glen Van Meerbek in the 86th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Glen Van Meerbek during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to KSV Wanne getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Glen Van Meerbek hit a great ball. Bernd Van den Bergen kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 94th minute Glen Van Meerbek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílton Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matthis Gramet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Amílton Paraíba made a huge save. KSV Sottegem's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
