Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Kristof Van Lier kicked off to start the match. Wim Leenknecht struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Fred De Maerschalckx didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Rooigem. After a rather tough play, SC Rooigem's Kristof Van Lier got a free kick in the 4th minute. Camiel Huijbrechts recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sander De Koq sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 7 minutes, Richy Van Heerle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Rooigem and the Vantegem players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vantegem's Fred De Maerschalckx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Leenknecht in the 9th minute of play. Robbin De Meur hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Vantegem's Leon Verdonck got a free kick in the 16th minute. If Wim Leenknecht had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Gino Tobbackers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fred De Maerschalckx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Leenknecht in the 22nd minute of the match. With his leg Kevin Coenen managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Vantegem's Camiel Huijbrechts fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camiel Huijbrechts during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 27th minute, Camiel Huijbrechts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, Vantegem's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Leenknecht came free, but Fred De Maerschalckx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Camiel Huijbrechts recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, SC Rooigem's Kevin Coenen got control of the ball when Camiel Huijbrechts tried to sneak it across the goal line. A hard shot 38 in the game by Camiel Huijbrechts from a close distance when the talented Kevin Coenen managed to make a qualified save. SC Rooigem's players were relieved. Sander De Koq sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Rooigem's goalkeeper Kevin Coenen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 44 played minutes Vantegem got a freekick which was hit by Leon Verdonck. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Camiel Huijbrechts was the one to do the kick off. Fred De Maerschalckx didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luc Schoutens went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Vantegem's Fred De Maerschalckx proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Vantegem from getting a goal against them. 63 minutes into the game, Camiel Huijbrechts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Kevin Coenen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 71st match minute, SC Rooigem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wim Leenknecht to maneuver through the defense. Kevin Coenen came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Vantegem's Camiel Huijbrechts. But to his dismay, Camiel Huijbrechts quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Sander De Koq fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Coenen having to interfere. Fred De Maerschalckx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristof Van Lier in the 79th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Frederik De Bruyn kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fred De Maerschalckx. That made the score 2-2 in the 82 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camiel Huijbrechts in the 90th minute of play forced SC Rooigem's goalkeeper Kevin Coenen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vantegem were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing SC Rooigem to leave the ground with a draw.
