The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Yens Van Heerle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronny Vermeiren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Yoachim Kerkhofs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yens Van Heerles short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Francis Kerckmans to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 14 played minutes Club Brugge KV got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Leerbels. In the 15th minute, Alexander Stercks got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joris Loozen hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. KAA Vissenaken's Ronny Vermeiren got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jordy Hendrickx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Club Brugge KV's Joris Loozen got a free kick in the 25th minute. Francis Kerckmans acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 28th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Adolphe Mallaerts. Francis Kerckmans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yens Van Heerle in the 30th minute. If Yens Van Heerle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, Club Brugge KV's Yens Van Heerle nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Francis Kerckmans made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronny Vermeiren in the 39th minute of play forced Club Brugge KV's goalkeeper Yoachim Kerkhofs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yoachim Kerkhofs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Van Huele, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, Yens Van Heerle had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francis Kerckmans. KAA Vissenaken's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yens Van Heerle was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute, Jordy Hendrickx got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 54 played minutes KAA Vissenaken got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Lissens. In the 57thth minute of the game Henri-Xavier Buyck who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KAA Vissenaken's Francis Kerckmans was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 61 minutes into the match, KAA Vissenaken's Jonathan Lissens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yoachim Kerkhofs narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jordy Hendrickx recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francis Kerckmans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yens Van Heerle, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Francis Kerckmans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yens Van Heerle in the 66th minute of the match. After 68 played minutes KAA Vissenaken got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Lissens. After a defensive mix-up in Club Brugge KV's zone, Ronny Vermeiren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yoachim Kerkhofs came out of the goal and Ronny Vermeiren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 72 minutes into the match, Henri-Xavier Buyck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francis Kerckmans. KAA Vissenaken's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Henri-Xavier Buyck was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 78th minute, Yens Van Heerle made a precise shot to the right of Francis Kerckmans. KAA Vissenaken's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommy Van Huele got free with Yoachim Kerkhofs in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tommy Van Huele who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Yoachim Kerkhofs when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Francis Kerckmans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tibo Van Looy in the 90th minute of the match. After 93 played minutes KAA Vissenaken got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Lissens. In the 95th minute, Jacobus Van den Inde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Club Brugge KV were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of KAA Vissenaken for a fine match.
