An unexpectedly hard shot by Jordy Hendrickx in the 8th minute of play forced Vantegem's goalkeeper Fred De Maerschalckx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yoachim Kerkhofs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camiel Huijbrechts, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 14th minute, Jordy Hendrickx ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fred De Maerschalckx was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henri-Xavier Buyck made a kick off. Camiel Huijbrechts could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Yoachim Kerkhofs made a huge save. After 94 minutes of play, Club Brugge KV's Henri-Xavier Buyck made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fred De Maerschalckx was left in no man's land by his defense there!
