The referee ignored AFC Ajax Amsterdam's protests and gave Mattheo Soens a yellow card for diving instead. After 7 played minutes AFC Ajax Amsterdam got a freekick which was hit by Mattheo Soens. Leo Wijnants recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 11 minutes into the game, Ward Huytterhoeven lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Robbin Cheepers. AFC Ajax Amsterdam's Guillaume Moens got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Robbin Cheepers stood somewhat misplaced when Tibo Loozen came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 19 minute. Tibo Loozen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Robbin Cheepers made a huge save. In the 27th minute Ward Huytterhoeven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robbin Cheepers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, AFC Ajax Amsterdam's goalkeeper Robbin Cheepers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tibo Loozen. Robbin Cheepers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nico Daniels, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 36th minute, Guillaume Moens made a precise shot to the right of Jan-Simon Van Adorp. La Selección's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ward Huytterhoeven made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Nico Daniels hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 53 minutes into the match, AFC Ajax Amsterdam's goal looked a bit too open when Nico Daniels came free, but Robbin Cheepers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd match minute, AFC Ajax Amsterdam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mattheo Soens to maneuver through the defense. Geert-Jan Goegebeur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Robbin Cheepers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 61 minutes of play AFC Ajax Amsterdam's Mattheo Soens was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 62 played minutes AFC Ajax Amsterdam got a freekick which was hit by Mattheo Soens. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
