Jos Volle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zwart Kaarsvet FC reached it. Giles De Custer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Sven De Hondt came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Verrewinkel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven De Hondt couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Verrewinkel could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Zwart Kaarsvet FC throughout the match.
