An unexpectedly hard shot by Xander-Paul Wolfs in the 17th minute of play forced 2860 Linksback's goalkeeper Tom Van Bouschot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Meerdorp's Xander-Paul Wolfs nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tom Van Bouschot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Xander-Paul Wolfs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. After the first half Meerdorp were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emmanuel Van de cauter made a kick off. Gerard Dauwen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Gerard Dauwen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Xander-Paul Wolfs made a precise shot to the right of Tom Van Bouschot. 2860 Linksback's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Dominick Uijtterhoeven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter-Jan Deflandre in the 68th minute of play. Dominick Uijtterhoeven showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter-Jan Deflandre, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 76th minute Emmanuel Van de cauter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Van Bouschot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of 2860 Linksback booed when Meerdorp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position.
