After having played for 16 minutes, Loid Vrints managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kaysersheim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Loid Vrints was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kaysersheim's Joel Demeester got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Otoniel Mondragon made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Ivan Matthys sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of De Matoekoes booed when Kaysersheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sam-Lucas Mertens didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Kaysersheim's Loid Vrints, in the 28th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Kaysersheim. In the 46th minute, Sam-Lucas Mertens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. The De Matoekoes fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Kaysersheim were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
