FC Coppenst's Samuel Palolahti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save FC Coppenst from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, VC Merchtem's Roberto-Carlos Gentenaar got a free kick in the 6th minute. Isaac Vito charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isaac Vito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th match minute, VC Merchtem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac Vito to maneuver through the defense. After 14 minutes, Rajmond Van den Brul mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VC Merchtem and the FC Coppenst players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th minute, Rajmond Van den Brul hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvio Estebe struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Samuel Palolahti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VC Merchtem. In the 26th match minute Ignace Stroobans ran free in the middle of the field and shot a long shot which scored behind a totally surprised Samuel Palolahti. 1-0. FC Coppenst's Samuel Palolahti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaac Vito in the 29th minute of play. Jammy Denys hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Samuel Palolahti didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Silvio Estebe went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Silvio Estebe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to FC Coppenst getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Cesinha Simão hit a great ball. Samuel Palolahti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, VC Merchtem's Isaac Vito dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Silvio Estebe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Palolahti having to interfere.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cesinha Simão to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, FC Coppenst's Claude Kesters got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Coppenst's zone, Arne Vuerinx stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Palolahti came out of the goal and Arne Vuerinx tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silvio Estebe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Samuel Palolahti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Isaac Vito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute, Rajmond Van den Brul left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The VC Merchtem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. 63 minutes into the match, Isaac Vito had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samuel Palolahti. FC Coppenst's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isaac Vito was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Isaac Vito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Samuel Palolahti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Isaac Vito notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of FC Coppenst's Samuel Palolahti. Samuel Palolahti was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Silvio Estebe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 78 minutes into the game, Luuk De Hoef was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Coppenst's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VC Merchtem the free kick. In the 78th match minute, FC Coppenst was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luuk De Hoef to maneuver through the defense. 80 minutes into the game, Silvio Estebe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Samuel Palolahti was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. FC Coppenst's Samuel Palolahti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignace Stroobans in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johannes Loosen in the 86th minute of play forced FC Coppenst's goalkeeper Samuel Palolahti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rajmond Van den Brul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Samuel Palolahti came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by VC Merchtem's Silvio Estebe. But to his dismay, Silvio Estebe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0.
