An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Matthys in the 12th minute of play forced FC Coppenst's goalkeeper Samuel Palolahti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the match, FC Coppenst's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Watarz came free, but Samuel Palolahti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 15 minutes, Bryan Adriens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Coppenst and the De Matoekoes players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 15 played minutes FC Coppenst got a freekick which was hit by Bryan Adriens. In the 16th minute Artur Watarz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Palolahti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bryan Adriens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Ivan Matthys came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the De Matoekoes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Matthys couldn't finish the play. Samuel Palolahti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Watarz in the 23rd minute of the match. Bryan Adrienss short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Wart Keldermans to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Harry Lambrechts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Samuel Palolahti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claude Kesters hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. FC Coppenst's Samuel Palolahti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Watarz in the 38th minute of play. After taking down the ball on De Matoekoes's corner Bavo Decremer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Samuel Palolahti quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to FC Coppenst getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Laurent Wolput hit a great ball. Samuel Palolahti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Matthys, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joppe deconinck during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 46 played minutes FC Coppenst got a freekick which was hit by Joppe deconinck. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Artur Watarz made the kick off in the second half. Samuel Palolahti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Artur Watarz's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. After a rather tough play, FC Coppenst's Joppe deconinck got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With a little luck, FC Coppenst's Samuel Palolahti got control of the ball when Ivan Matthys tried to sneak it across the goal line. Samuel Palolahti came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by De Matoekoes's Ivan Matthys. But to his dismay, Ivan Matthys quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Wart Keldermans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bryan Adriens in the 73rd minute of play. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind De Matoekoes's goalkeeper Wart Keldermans, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 87 minutes into the game, Ivan Matthys recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Samuel Palolahti. Ivan Matthys showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. In the 90th minute Cesinha Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wart Keldermans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. De Matoekoes walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
