Yanick Verschelde stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jules Bauweleers's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Godfried Van Calster came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by YR Mechelen's Andries Mangelschot. But to his dismay, Andries Mangelschot quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Godfried Van Calster took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joop Leemans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the game, Reinard Denijs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boca Delvaux's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave YR Mechelen the free kick. After 13 played minutes Boca Delvaux got a freekick which was hit by Reinard Denijs. After 16 played minutes Thobias Debock rounded YR Mechelen's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. Miguel Van Mechelen hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Miguel Van Mechelen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Godfried Van Calster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jules Bauweleers who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Yanick Verschelde when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Godfried Van Calster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andries Mangelschot, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Boca Delvaux's Godfried Van Calster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andries Mangelschot in the 29th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miguel Van Mechelen made a kick off. Godfried Van Calster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Van Mechelen, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. The supporters of YR Mechelen booed when Boca Delvaux was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfried Van Calster had great luck who in the 73rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Miguel Van Mechelen from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 76 minutes into the match, Andries Mangelschot notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Boca Delvaux's Godfried Van Calster. Godfried Van Calster was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in YR Mechelen's zone, Thobias Debock stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yanick Verschelde came out of the goal and Thobias Debock tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Godfried Van Calster was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Miguel Van Mechelen showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-5 in the 82 minute of play. With a little luck, Boca Delvaux's Godfried Van Calster got control of the ball when Andries Mangelschot tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reinard Denijs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yanick Verschelde having to interfere. After a rather tough play, YR Mechelen's Joop Leemans got a free kick in the 95th minute. A throw-in in the 96th minute of the game was made by Jozef Van Acker with Maxime Van Bombergen as target, who quickly passed the ball forward.
