The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stephen Pelgrims could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Soren Fierens made a huge save. 30 minutes into the game, Thibaud Davus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Royal Timboektoe city's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Soccer Bears the free kick. 30 minutes into the game, one of Royal Timboektoe city:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 31 minutes Royal Timboektoe city's goalkeeper Soren Fierens managed, with a little bit of luck, save Marc Cempeners's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. Marc Cempeners received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Soren Fierens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Rouvroys blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Soren Fierens having to make a save. In the 37th minute, Stephen Pelgrims got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Soccer Bears were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Royal Timboektoe city's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Matthy Van Houdtvinck took the corner. The corner ended in Matthy Van Houdtvinck almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Royal Timboektoe city's Soren Fierens did a great save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martijn Wintermans was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Stephen Pelgrims managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Soccer Bears's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stephen Pelgrims was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Royal Timboektoe city getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Martijn Wintermans hit a great ball. After 54 minutes of play, FC Soccer Bears's Marc Cempeners made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Soren Fierens was left in no man's land by his defense there! 58 minutes into the match, Royal Timboektoe city's goal looked a bit too open when Stephen Pelgrims came free, but Soren Fierens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stephen Pelgrims fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Soren Fierens having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Marc Cempeners put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Soren Fierens. Marc Cempeners struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Soren Fierens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Soccer Bears. Soren Fierens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marc Cempeners went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 71st match minute, FC Soccer Bears was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Louis-Philippe van Eijnde to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stephen Pelgrims in the 73rd minute of play forced Royal Timboektoe city's goalkeeper Soren Fierens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Royal Timboektoe city's Soren Fierens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Rouvroys in the 75th minute of play. Stephen Pelgrims fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Soren Fierens having to interfere. When Stephen Pelgrims came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the FC Soccer Bears fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stephen Pelgrims couldn't finish the play. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Royal Timboektoe city's goalkeeper Soren Fierens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Stephen Pelgrims had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Soren Fierens. Royal Timboektoe city's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stephen Pelgrims was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Stephen Pelgrims managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Soccer Bears's supporters rose to their feet, but Stephen Pelgrims was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Soren Fierens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stephen Pelgrims received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute.
