The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Schrevens got free with Arne De Munck in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gilliam De Koning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tijs Verhaghen in the 15th minute of play. Arne De Munck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ief De Baere, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After 19 played minutes Suikerklontjes got a freekick which was hit by Janes Verhoeven. Wilfried Lembrechts struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Arne De Munck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aineffe. 22 minutes into the match, Suikerklontjes's goal looked a bit too open when Ief De Baere came free, but Arne De Munck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuel De Bruijn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute Ief De Baere shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne De Munck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aineffe were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Suikerklontjes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Perry Van Cruchten took the corner. After taking down the ball on Aineffe's corner Willem-Alexander Van den Gans fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arne De Munck quite easily take care of the ball. Tijs Verhaghen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilliam De Koning read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Ief De Baere received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Arne De Munck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilliam De Koning stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Johannes Weijnandts's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. After 37 minutes of play, Suikerklontjes's Janes Verhoeven made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilliam De Koning was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gilliam De Koning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johannes Weijnandts in the 40th minute of play. Aineffe's Gilliam De Koning played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johannes Weijnandts in the 42nd minute of play. Gilliam De Koning took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Janes Verhoeven, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Suikerklontjes were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
