Loid De Brouwer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in DrughiGenk's zone, David Wuets stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lars Van Geertruyen came out of the goal and David Wuets tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 12 minutes into the game, Wilian da Mata recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Diego Vermeesch. Wilian da Mata showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Kerkbrugge's Diego Vermeesch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marnix Van Turnhout in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Phillipe Van Hoyveldt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Diego Vermeesch. Phillipe Van Hoyveldt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. In the 22nd minute, DrughiGenk's Phillipe Van Hoyveldt ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Diego Vermeesch. Diego Vermeesch yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. Diego Vermeesch was out of position in the 25 minute of play, and Wilian da Mata capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Wilian da Mata really showed his touch with that goal: 4-1. 28 minutes into the match, Wilian da Mata had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diego Vermeesch. Kerkbrugge's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilian da Mata was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Phillipe Van Hoyveldt scored 6-1 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diego Vermeesch, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Antonio Huvenaerts charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antonio Huvenaerts the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 38th minute, Antonio Huvenaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute Phillipe Van Hoyveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Vermeesch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diego Vermeesch was a little too slow when Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 7-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 7-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Phillipe Van Hoyveldt to strike the kick off in the second half. Lars Van Geertruyen made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Izak Van Leempten sent off a good shot on target. After 55 minutes of play, DrughiGenk's Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden made it 8-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diego Vermeesch was left in no man's land by his defense there! Diego Vermeesch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden in the 65th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Wilian da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute, Izak Van Leempten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kerkbrugge fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-2. Wilhelm Ulbo kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, DrughiGenk's goal looked a bit too open when Alain Allaert came free, but Lars Van Geertruyen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diego Vermeesch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phillipe Van Hoyveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the match, Alain Allaert notched a goal, 8-3, to the right of DrughiGenk's Lars Van Geertruyen. Lars Van Geertruyen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Diego Vermeesch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilian da Mata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Izak Van Leempten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Lars Van Geertruyen made a huge save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The DrughiGenk fans cheered their team off the field, for while Kerkbrugge had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
