Spectators: 5840 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1840, VIP seats: 0) schoten's Joop Eggers started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Robbe Smidts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Bob Le Page tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Daevy De Raeijmaeker fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored V.D.B. Foundation's protests and gave Daevy De Raeijmaeker a yellow card for diving instead. Daevy De Raeijmaeker kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the match, V.D.B. Foundation's goal looked a bit too open when Joop Eggers came free, but Bob Le Page reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, V.D.B. Foundation's Daevy De Raeijmaeker got a free kick in the 9th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Ivan Cox managed to get in a good position for a shot. V.D.B. Foundation's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan Cox was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorne Sulem breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 12th minute, Ivan Cox made a precise shot to the right of Jorne Sulem. schoten's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Matthy Degraef sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daevy De Raeijmaeker hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 19th match minute, schoten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacq Wigers to maneuver through the defense. Daevy De Raeijmaeker scored 0-3 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jorne Sulem, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jorne Sulem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Cox in the 26th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robbe Smidts got free with Bob Le Page in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joop Eggers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 31 minutes into the game, Frits Imbrechs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. V.D.B. Foundation's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave schoten the free kick. In the 32nd minute, Robbe Smidts fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bob Le Page, passed just outside the right post. In the 35th minute, schoten's Jacq Wigers seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jacq Wigers the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of schoten protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jacq Wigers had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 34th minute of the game. One of schoten:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of V.D.B. Foundation:s goal. In the 39th match minute, schoten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Gyselincx to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the match, schoten's goal looked a bit too open when Geert Van den Sande came free, but Jorne Sulem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorne Sulem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daevy De Raeijmaeker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the game, Ivan Cox cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Jorne Sulem was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivan Cox to make the kick off. Jorne Sulem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Cox in the 51st minute of the match. 52 minutes into the match, V.D.B. Foundation's goal looked a bit too open when Joop Eggers came free, but Bob Le Page reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 53 minutes into the match, schoten's Matthy Degraef sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bob Le Page narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Richy Van Bettenrode took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bob Le Page. Bob Le Page dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. In the 58th minute, Joop Eggers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The schoten fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. In the 60th minute of the match, Ivan Cox tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jorne Sulem saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Joop Eggers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob Le Page having to interfere. After 64 played minutes V.D.B. Foundation got a freekick which was hit by Daevy De Raeijmaeker. Maurice Poets kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Jorne Sulem made an important save on a dangerous shot by Geert Van den Sande in the 68th minute. When Ivan Cox came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the V.D.B. Foundation fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Cox couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute of the match, Ivan Cox tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jorne Sulem saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Geert Van den Sande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the game, Geert Van den Sande lined in a short shot 2-6 behind a frustrated Jorne Sulem. After having played for 82 minutes, Richy Van Bettenrode managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. schoten's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richy Van Bettenrode was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Richy Van Bettenrode's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bob Le Page read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. The supporters of V.D.B. Foundation booed when schoten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richy Van Bettenrode didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Maurice Poets was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. V.D.B. Foundation's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave schoten the free kick. Richy Van Bettenrode sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The V.D.B. Foundation supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing V.D.B. Foundation would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
