Kent De Marrez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Douglas Kortens made a huge save. In the 5th minute Kent De Marrez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Kortens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Douglas Kortens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent De Marrez in the 6th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in KVSK Viersel's zone, Kent De Marrez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Douglas Kortens came out of the goal and Kent De Marrez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luk Godefroid's late challenge caught a FuglyMugs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luk Godefroid helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, KVSK Viersel's Luk Godefroid got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute, Claus Pauwels got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. KVSK Viersel's Douglas Kortens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save KVSK Viersel from getting a goal against them. Pascal Dumont sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute Ronald Justens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steffen Verhaeghen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Kent De Marrez managed to get in a good position for a shot. FuglyMugs's supporters rose to their feet, but Kent De Marrez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Douglas Kortens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jean Deroek during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to KVSK Viersel getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Jean Deroek hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Ronald Justens had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Steffen Verhaeghen. FuglyMugs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronald Justens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Steffen Verhaeghen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Deroek in the 36th minute of the match. A collision led to FuglyMugs getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Dyllen Campens hit a great ball. After 38 played minutes, KVSK Viersel's Quentin De Hondt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Steffen Verhaeghen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in KVSK Viersel reached it. Steffen Verhaeghen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronald Justens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claus Pauwels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Douglas Kortens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The KVSK Viersel fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when KVSK Viersel's Luk Godefroid looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronald Justens was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Jacob Van De Velden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FuglyMugs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacob Van De Velden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 53 played minutes KVSK Viersel got a freekick which was hit by Franky Scheppers. In the 57thth minute of the game Claus Pauwels who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KVSK Viersel's Douglas Kortens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the KVSK Viersel defense, Jacob Van De Velden kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Douglas Kortens. The KVSK Viersel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Douglas Kortens should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pascal Dumont got free with Steffen Verhaeghen in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Claus Pauwels fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FuglyMugs's protests and gave Claus Pauwels a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FuglyMugs getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Claus Pauwels hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronald Justens in the 67th minute of play forced FuglyMugs's goalkeeper Steffen Verhaeghen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 68 minutes into the game, Pascal Dumont cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Steffen Verhaeghen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to KVSK Viersel getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Kristof van Haghten hit a great ball. Ronald Justens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, FuglyMugs's Steffen Verhaeghen got control of the ball when Pascal Dumont tried to sneak it across the goal line. Douglas Kortens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kent De Marrez in the 83rd minute of play. In the 87th minute Claus Pauwels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Kortens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. KVSK Viersel's Douglas Kortens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claus Pauwels in the 89th minute of play. Claus Pauwels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Kortens having to interfere. If Ronald Justens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
