Davy Aerts's late challenge caught a Facabora's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Davy Aerts helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in V.D.B. Foundation's zone, Ive Van Den Broek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Cox came out of the goal and Ive Van Den Broek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 11 minutes of play, Facabora's Loid Verhelst made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivan Cox was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 14 played minutes V.D.B. Foundation got a freekick which was hit by Geordy Verelst. Lou Van Linthout sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jannes Bossuyt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bob Le Page in the 19th minute of the match. After 20 played minutes V.D.B. Foundation got a freekick which was hit by Geordy Verelst. In the 22nd minute of the match Henry Decaluwe shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivan Cox showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ivan Cox was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Kim De Weijgaert capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kim De Weijgaert really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After some careless play in the Facabora defense, Bob Le Page kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jannes Bossuyt. The Facabora fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jannes Bossuyt should have stopped the shot. Jannes Bossuyt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gery Van der Vorst in the 30th minute of the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Geordy Verelst managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. V.D.B. Foundation's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geordy Verelst was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jannes Bossuyt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Le Page in the 37th minute of play. When Gery Van der Vorst came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the V.D.B. Foundation fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gery Van der Vorst couldn't finish the play. Jannes Bossuyt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gery Van der Vorst in the 40th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Facabora's Kim De Weijgaert got a free kick in the 44th minute. 46 minutes into the game, one of Facabora:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Facabora:s Jannes Bossuyt showed great skill when he stopped Tristan Mangelschot:s penalty. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gery Van der Vorst made a kick off. In the 54th minute Kim De Weijgaert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Cox saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Facabora's Jannes Bossuyt got control of the ball when Bob Le Page tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th minute, Bob Le Page got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ivan Cox made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Didier Van Landschoot in the 79th minute of play. Facabora's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Gery Van der Vorst 86 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-5. 89 minutes into the game, Gery Van der Vorst recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jannes Bossuyt. Gery Van der Vorst showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-6. Ivan Cox took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ive Van Den Broek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute, one of V.D.B. Foundation:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for V.D.B. Foundation. The V.D.B. Foundation supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing V.D.B. Foundation would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
