Luk Godefroid charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 15th match minute, Buitre SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthieu Van den Paenhuysen to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute, Jean Deroek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute, Evert Goddez made a precise shot to the right of Douglas Kortens. KVSK Viersel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After 27 played minutes KVSK Viersel got a freekick which was hit by Jean Deroek. Douglas Kortens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mattias de Pelsmaecker in the 29th minute of play. Buitre SC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ronald Justens 30 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mattias de Pelsmaecker in the 34th minute of play forced KVSK Viersel's goalkeeper Douglas Kortens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evert Goddez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Douglas Kortens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. KVSK Viersel's Douglas Kortens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathieu Meijers in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Mattias de Pelsmaecker ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Douglas Kortens was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaac Weets in the 44th minute of play forced KVSK Viersel's goalkeeper Douglas Kortens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Douglas Kortens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nico Laureijs in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Buitre SC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mathieu Meijers to make the kick off. KVSK Viersel's Douglas Kortens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save KVSK Viersel from getting a goal against them. 56 minutes into the match, KVSK Viersel's goal looked a bit too open when Mattias de Pelsmaecker came free, but Douglas Kortens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Douglas Kortens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nico Laureijs in the 60th minute of the match. Buitre SC's Mathieu Meijers got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Douglas Kortens was out of position in the 63 minute of play, and Mattias de Pelsmaecker capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mattias de Pelsmaecker really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. Mathieu Meijers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Douglas Kortens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Mathieu Meijers received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Douglas Kortens came out and tried to block the shot, but Mathieu Meijers slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathieu Meijers in the 74th minute of play forced KVSK Viersel's goalkeeper Douglas Kortens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Nico Laureijs took a quick shot and it went in 1-6 without a chance for Douglas Kortens to make any attempt to save it. When Buitre SC's Mathieu Meijers in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 96th minute Mattias de Pelsmaecker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Kortens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
