Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Joop Rijmenams kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute Frederick Declerck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yanniek Correyns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Axel Weets fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sint-Niklaas's protests and gave Axel Weets a yellow card for diving instead. Axel Weets hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute Brent Audenaert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emiliano Martínez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Frederick Declerck reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Yanniek Correyns. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 14th minute, Brent Audenaert left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KSV Nieuwpoort fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Yanniek Correyns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Weets, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Frederick Declerck notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of KSV Nieuwpoort's Yanniek Correyns. Yanniek Correyns was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 24th match minute, KSV Nieuwpoort was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Wijnrijx to maneuver through the defense. Hugo Voorhof could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Yanniek Correyns made a huge save. Renzo Helsens's late challenge caught a Sint-Niklaas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renzo Helsens helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, KSV Nieuwpoort was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renzo Helsens to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute, Kent Waterloos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd match minute, KSV Nieuwpoort was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilfried Jansens to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Boris Van Mellaert notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Sint-Niklaas's Emiliano Martínez. Emiliano Martínez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hugo Voorhof made a kick off. When Ahmet Ekin came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Sint-Niklaas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet Ekin couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Weets in the 54th minute of play forced KSV Nieuwpoort's goalkeeper Yanniek Correyns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to KSV Nieuwpoort getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Boris Van Mellaert hit a great ball. Yanniek Correyns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Voorhof, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Emiliano Martínez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joop Rijmenams, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Voorhof in the 64th minute of play forced KSV Nieuwpoort's goalkeeper Yanniek Correyns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the KSV Nieuwpoort defense, Axel Weets kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yanniek Correyns. The KSV Nieuwpoort fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yanniek Correyns should have stopped the shot. Sint-Niklaas's Emiliano Martínez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joop Rijmenams in the 72nd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Sint-Niklaas's Frederick Declerck sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yanniek Correyns narrowly saved just below the crossbar. KSV Nieuwpoort's Yanniek Correyns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frederick Declerck in the 78th minute of play. Yanniek Correyns came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Sint-Niklaas's Axel Weets. But to his dismay, Axel Weets quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. In the 89th minute, KSV Nieuwpoort's Joop Rijmenams ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Emiliano Martínez. Emiliano Martínez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Hugo Voorhof managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sint-Niklaas's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Voorhof was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yanniek Correyns breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 94 minutes into the match, Sint-Niklaas's goal looked a bit too open when Joop Rijmenams came free, but Emiliano Martínez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frederick Declerck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sint-Niklaas fully deserved thier win.
