Spectators: 7981 (Terracing: 5987, Seating: 1835, VIP seats: 159) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Lieven Bossuyt kicked off to start the match. After 3 minutes, Luk Lanfan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wevelgem FC and the Racing Leuven players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luk Lanfan kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. 4 minutes into the game, one of Racing Leuven:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Diego De Graef scored 1-0 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ferdinand Raedemaeckers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luk Lanfan got free with Ferdinand Raedemaeckers in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 10 played minutes Racing Leuven got a freekick which was hit by Gino Van Den Eijnde. Luckas Goddez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute of the match, Luckas Goddez tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ferdinand Raedemaeckers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Racing Leuven's Ferdinand Raedemaeckers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luckas Goddez in the 17th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Ken Peers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wevelgem FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Racing Leuven the free kick. Wevelgem FC's Ken Peers got his second yellow card of the match in the 22nd minute. The referee ordered Ken Peers off the ground. After 27th play minutes Luk Lanfan shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Ferdinand Raedemaeckers and just under the crossbar into goal. Ferdinand Raedemaeckers made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Willem-Alexander Wilmots sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Lieven Bossuyt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Viktor De Baere was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Nicolas Van Beets's late challenge caught a Wevelgem FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicolas Van Beets helped the player get up and apologised. Nicolas Van Beets kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Racing Leuven's goalkeeper Ferdinand Raedemaeckers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benoit Jaddon came free in the 41st minute and tried to tip the ball over Ferdinand Raedemaeckers, but to the joy of Racing Leuven's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. The nice shot from Willem-Alexander Wilmots in the 43rdth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Ferdinand Raedemaeckers had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Viktor De Baere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lieven Bossuyt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Willem-Alexander Wilmots came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Wevelgem FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Willem-Alexander Wilmots couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Willem-Alexander Wilmots to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Willem-Alexander Wilmots left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wevelgem FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 56th minute, Willem-Alexander Wilmots hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Racing Leuven's Gino Van Den Eijnde got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 59th match minute, Wevelgem FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luckas Goddez to maneuver through the defense. Willem-Alexander Wilmots sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luk Lanfan in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ferdinand Raedemaeckers saved Racing Leuven from getting behind. Ferdinand Raedemaeckers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Willem-Alexander Wilmots's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. After some careless play in the Racing Leuven defense, Luk Lanfan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ferdinand Raedemaeckers. The Racing Leuven fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ferdinand Raedemaeckers should have stopped the shot. Lieven Bossuyt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Viktor De Baere firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Racing Leuven's goalkeeper Ferdinand Raedemaeckers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luk Lanfan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinand Raedemaeckers having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Racing Leuven's zone, Willem-Alexander Wilmots stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ferdinand Raedemaeckers came out of the goal and Willem-Alexander Wilmots tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Willem-Alexander Wilmots blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ferdinand Raedemaeckers having to make a save. Willem-Alexander Wilmots sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Wevelgem FC booed when Racing Leuven was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Raemakers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luk Lanfan in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ferdinand Raedemaeckers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee ended the match the Wevelgem FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
