Gust Henrix's late challenge caught a As's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gust Henrix helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to KSV Nieuwpoort getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Gust Henrix hit a great ball. In the 11th minute, Loid Voet fired a really elegant long shot, but Yanniek Correyns threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. In the 17th minute, Casper Leerbels ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yanniek Correyns was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joop Rijmenams during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 24th match minute, KSV Nieuwpoort was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joop Rijmenams to maneuver through the defense. Yanniek Correyns came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by As's Casper Leerbels. But to his dismay, Casper Leerbels quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Casper Leerbels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yanniek Correyns having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, As's Loid Voet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yanniek Correyns narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Loid Voet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Yanniek Correyns tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Charles-Louis Verhaeghen during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, As's Charles-Louis Verhaeghen got a free kick in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

After a defensive mix-up in KSV Nieuwpoort's zone, Casper Leerbels stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yanniek Correyns came out of the goal and Casper Leerbels tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Casper Leerbels in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yanniek Correyns saved KSV Nieuwpoort from getting behind. KSV Nieuwpoort's Yanniek Correyns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loid Voet in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loid Voet in the 58th minute of play forced KSV Nieuwpoort's goalkeeper Yanniek Correyns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of KSV Nieuwpoort booed when As was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Casper Leerbels didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 62 minutes, Soren Van Baerlem mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the As and the KSV Nieuwpoort players grew even worse after the yellow card. Soren Van Baerlem hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 69th match minute, As was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Soren Van Baerlem to maneuver through the defense. Yanniek Correyns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Casper Leerbels in the 78th minute of the match. Cederik Davus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joop Rijmenams, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dylan Van Dessel kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. A collision led to As getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Soren Van Baerlem hit a great ball. KSV Nieuwpoort's Yanniek Correyns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loid Voet in the 94th minute of play.
