Spectators: 8468 (Terracing: 6352, Seating: 1947, VIP seats: 169) Westbeke's Remie Uytebroeck started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Remie Uytebroeck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hudson Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ferdinand Mergea in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brian Hunaerts prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Remie Uytebroeck got free with Hudson Costa in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, GentFC's Hudson Costa got control of the ball when Remie Uytebroeck tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Remie Uytebroeck kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hudson Costa. That made the score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Westbeke's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdinand Mergea came free, but Brian Hunaerts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 21 minutes Westbeke's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tugay Kerimoglu who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Ferdinand Mergea got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Brian Hunaerts quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The corner led GentFC's Tugay Kerimoglu to fire away a dangerous shot which Brian Hunaerts despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 29th minute, Loui Reijckmans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tugay Kerimoglu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Brian Hunaerts. Westbeke's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Remie Uytebroeck might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hudson Costa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Remie Uytebroeck ran back to his position shaking his head. Remie Uytebroeck came free with the goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hudson Costa could save by the left post. Brian Hunaerts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdinand Mergea, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Brian Hunaerts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferdinand Mergea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdinand Mergea in the 39th minute of play forced Westbeke's goalkeeper Brian Hunaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brian Hunaerts stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ferdinand Mergea's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Westbeke's Remie Uytebroeck got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferdinand Mergea to make the kick off. Brent-Jan Van de cauters short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Brian Hunaerts to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Brent-Jan Van de cauter hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 57th match minute, GentFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brent-Jan Van de cauter to maneuver through the defense. Brent-Jan Van de cauter did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Brian Hunaerts 59 minutes into the match. Brian Hunaerts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tugay Kerimoglu, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Loui Reijckmans hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Shen Cheng Hai struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Hudson Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Westbeke. Brian Hunaerts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferdinand Mergea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Remie Uytebroeck succeeded in the game's 75th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. GentFC's Jarne Vrancken was substituted for Sebastian Zyskowski. Loui Reijckmans kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 84th minute of the match Jens van Haghten shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hudson Costa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Brent-Jan Van de cauter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Westbeke's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jens van Haghten in the 89th minute. After taking down the ball on Westbeke's corner Jens van Haghten fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hudson Costa quite easily take care of the ball. Brian Hunaerts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Mergea in the 92nd minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, Westbeke could leave the field as winners, despite GentFC having more of the ball for most of the match.
