Gabriel Wenderix's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eddie Simonsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. MeldertFC's Eddie Simonsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save MeldertFC from getting a goal against them. Eddie Simonsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Wenderix, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kent Harlén in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jannes Kerselaers saved KAA Kapelle from getting behind. The supporters of KAA Kapelle booed when MeldertFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante De Fever didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jannes Kerselaers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phillipe Gelens in the 24th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, MeldertFC's Kent Harlén got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 25th play minute Kaiet Vazquez came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Eddie Simonsson. 1-0. After 27 played minutes MeldertFC got a freekick which was hit by Kent Harlén. Gabriel Wenderix charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gabriel Wenderix the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th match minute, KAA Kapelle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Wenderix to maneuver through the defense. Eddie Simonsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prospero Avellaneda, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Jannes Kerselaers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phillipe Gelens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eddie Simonsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diederiek Jamieson in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute, Fedele Selvaggi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. MeldertFC's Eddie Simonsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save MeldertFC from getting a goal against them. In the 48th match minute, MeldertFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Raeymakers to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gabriel Wenderix was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by KAA Kapelle's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Goran Gardakov was slow to take the kick. During this time MeldertFC's players had a chance to rest. 60 minutes into the match, MeldertFC's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Wenderix came free, but Eddie Simonsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. KAA Kapelle made a substitution. Tomm De Hertoge replaced Gabri van Beek. Vacib Kani hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Dany Vaes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eddie Simonsson was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Kent Harlén recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eddie Simonsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulus Iven in the 82nd minute of play. Eddie Simonsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulus Iven, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to MeldertFC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Vacib Kani hit a great ball. In the 89th minute, Kaiet Vazquez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eddie Simonsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Anselmo Rius's late challenge caught a KAA Kapelle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anselmo Rius helped the player get up and apologised. When Paulus Iven came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the KAA Kapelle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulus Iven couldn't finish the play.
