Bobby Vanooteghem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willem Olbrechts, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vernon Wilkinson got free with Henri-Xavier De Maerschalck in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 12 minutes into the game, Maasmechelen Esox Lucius's Will Koninckx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bobby Vanooteghem made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After some careless play in the Dare to dream again defense, Will Koninckx kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bobby Vanooteghem. The Dare to dream again fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bobby Vanooteghem should have stopped the shot. Yu Feng Sang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Henri-Xavier De Maerschalck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vernon Wilkinson was the one to do the kick off. But to his dismay, Norbert Portmans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The referee felt a red card was in order, 59 minutes into the game, when Wannes Steenbecks put in a rough tackle. After 59 played minutes Maasmechelen Esox Lucius got a freekick which was hit by Wannes Steenbecks. 63 minutes into the game, Willem Olbrechts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Bobby Vanooteghem was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bobby Vanooteghem made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Luke Geldhof sent off a good shot on target. 68 minutes into the match, Maasmechelen Esox Lucius's goal looked a bit too open when Vernon Wilkinson came free, but Henri-Xavier De Maerschalck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eddy Nelleboedske lost his temper 70 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After a rather tough play, Dare to dream again's Eddy Nelleboedske got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 80th minute Vernon Wilkinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henri-Xavier De Maerschalck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Oswald Dams made a precise shot to the right of Bobby Vanooteghem. Dare to dream again's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. Maasmechelen Esox Lucius's Henri-Xavier De Maerschalck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mikolaj Tomaszewski in the 86th minute of play. Willem Olbrechts recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Dare to dream again's goalkeeper Bobby Vanooteghem had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oswald Dams. Dare to dream again's Bobby Vanooteghem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willem Olbrechts in the 92nd minute of play. Maasmechelen Esox Lucius's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
