Steven Puttemans scored 0-2 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Waut Van Der Meeren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trevor Eubank in the 12th minute of play forced Anversa Club's goalkeeper Waut Van Der Meeren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gust Van Dijck lost his temper 17 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 17th minute, one of SK Mons:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SK Mons. With a little luck, SK Mons's Connor Osmond got control of the ball when Claudio García tried to sneak it across the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, SK Mons's Trevor Eubank sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Waut Van Der Meeren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Waut Van Der Meeren was left in no man's land by his defense there! Waut Van Der Meeren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bogumil Czapski, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogumil Czapski in the 36th minute of play forced Anversa Club's goalkeeper Waut Van Der Meeren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Claudio García kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Connor Osmond. That made the score 1-3 in the 41 minute of play. Reiner Fallas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, SK Mons's goalkeeper Connor Osmond had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudio García. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

In the 54th minute Trevor Eubank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waut Van Der Meeren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of SK Mons booed when Anversa Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Procházka didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Trevor Eubank had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Waut Van Der Meeren. Anversa Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Trevor Eubank was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Connor Osmond came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Anversa Club's Reiner Fallas. But to his dismay, Reiner Fallas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Leif Olofsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Waut Van Der Meeren made a huge save. If Nicu Vornicu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Connor Osmond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Winarto Songgonau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute, Leif Olofsson fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Waut Van Der Meeren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trevor Eubank, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Anversa Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Christoph Van den Berch was slow to take the kick. During this time SK Mons's players had a chance to rest. 85 minutes into the game, Remzi Nuri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SK Mons's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Anversa Club the free kick. In the 85th match minute, SK Mons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remzi Nuri to maneuver through the defense. After 87 played minutes SK Mons got a freekick which was hit by Christoph Van den Berch. In the 88th minute Winarto Songgonau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Connor Osmond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
