Boris Musseeuw recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jeroen Maenhout took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thys Geraerts. Thys Geraerts dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The audience was convinced that Jeroen Maenhout's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thys Geraerts was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. A collision led to Dynamo Marx getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Roger De Mol hit a great ball. Avelgem ad. Schelde's Niek Molhoek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boris Musseeuw in the 37th minute of play. Ronald Theys could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Niek Molhoek made a huge save. Niek Molhoek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronald Theys, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boris Musseeuw fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niek Molhoek having to interfere. The Dynamo Marx players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Avelgem ad. Schelde were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeroen Maenhout was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Dynamo Marx's Thys Geraerts got control of the ball when Ferdinand Fabry tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thys Geraerts came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Avelgem ad. Schelde's Ferdinand Fabry. But to his dismay, Ferdinand Fabry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Ronald Theys received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Niek Molhoek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Jerom Van De Velden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dynamo Marx's Thys Geraerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Allaert in the 67th minute of play. Thys Geraerts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeroen Maenhout, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. If Felix Allaert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Niek Molhoek came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Dynamo Marx's Boris Musseeuw. But to his dismay, Boris Musseeuw quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 77 minutes into the match, Dynamo Marx's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Allaert came free, but Thys Geraerts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute, Felix Allaert left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Avelgem ad. Schelde fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The Dynamo Marx fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Avelgem ad. Schelde were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
