In the 8th minute of the match, Lorenz Van Deijck sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Ewout De Meulder showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Etienne Van Achteren in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ewout De Meulder prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ewout De Meulder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwin Koppen in the 11th minute of play. After some careless play in the Club Brugge defense, Etienne Van Achteren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ewout De Meulder. The Club Brugge fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ewout De Meulder should have stopped the shot. In the 18th minute, Edwin Koppen made a precise shot to the right of Ewout De Meulder. Club Brugge's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 22 minutes into the match, Edwin Koppen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ewout De Meulder. Club Brugge's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edwin Koppen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 24th minute, Harald De Messemaeckre ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ewout De Meulder was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Ewout De Meulder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edwin Koppen in the 31st minute of the match. After 31 played minutes Club Brugge got a freekick which was hit by Thibaud Mathy. After 33 minutes, Hans Dauwe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Brugge and the Wils FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Wils FC booed when Club Brugge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Dauwe didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Edwin Koppen made a precise shot to the right of Ewout De Meulder. Club Brugge's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Ewout De Meulder came out and tried to block the shot, but Edwin Koppen slotted it home off the left post making it 0-10 in the 59th minute. Andreas Frans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Roockeloes in the 62nd minute of play. Etienne Van Achteren succeeded in the game's 64th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-11. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Edwin Koppen took a quick shot and it went in 0-12 without a chance for Ewout De Meulder to make any attempt to save it. In the 72nd minute, Oliver Roockeloes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Club Brugge's goalie Ewout De Meulder was quick on his feet when Edwin Koppen aimed and made a shot towards the top left corner. The goalie picked down the ball without great difficulties. After 75 played minutes Club Brugge got a freekick which was hit by Thibaud Mathy.
