Spectators: 8544 (Terracing: 6409, Seating: 1965, VIP seats: 170) Eddy Laporte started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 6th minute Eddy Laporte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eleuterio Urbez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 8 minutes, Thom Easton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sapitos and the KFC Vliegplein players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 8 played minutes Sapitos got a freekick which was hit by Thom Easton. Eleuterio Urbez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eddy Laporte's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. KFC Vliegplein's Teo De Jonge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stan Carpenter in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennert Hombroeckx in the 21st minute of play forced KFC Vliegplein's goalkeeper Teo De Jonge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ray Gillis kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Sapitos's Eleuterio Urbez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Sapitos from getting a goal against them. Teo De Jonge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennert Hombroeckx in the 31st minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Lennert Hombroeckx notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of KFC Vliegplein's Teo De Jonge. Teo De Jonge was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Teo De Jonge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stan Carpenter, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinard Vervaeck in the 36th minute of play forced KFC Vliegplein's goalkeeper Teo De Jonge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Ferdinand Weijnants left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KFC Vliegplein fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Reinard Vervaeck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teo De Jonge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinard Vervaeck in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lennert Hombroeckx to make the kick off. Eddy Laporte kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute Reinard Vervaeck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teo De Jonge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the game, Lennart Van Kestbeek was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sapitos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Vliegplein the free kick. After 56 played minutes Sapitos got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Van Kestbeek. If Ferdinand Weijnants had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Clijsters in the 62nd minute of play forced Sapitos's goalkeeper Eleuterio Urbez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute Ferdinand Weijnants shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eleuterio Urbez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gu Ang Xiang fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sapitos's protests and gave Gu Ang Xiang a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of KFC Vliegplein booed when Sapitos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gu Ang Xiang didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, KFC Vliegplein's Miguel Clijsters got a free kick in the 86th minute. Teo De Jonge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reinard Vervaeck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eleuterio Urbez came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by KFC Vliegplein's Eddy Laporte. But to his dismay, Eddy Laporte quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Sapitos's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
