An unexpectedly hard shot by Wes Lieckens in the 13th minute of play forced Sapitos's goalkeeper Eleuterio Urbez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maximino Cesario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennert Hombroeckx, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. When Lennert Hombroeckx fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sapitos's protests and gave Lennert Hombroeckx a yellow card for diving instead. After 18 played minutes Sapitos got a freekick which was hit by Lennert Hombroeckx. Eleuterio Urbez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Georg Gustavsson went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Kent Stuckens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eleuterio Urbez having to interfere. After 35 minutes, Bill Hofnagels mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La masia and the Sapitos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sapitos made a substitution. Vic Deckkers replaced Ray Gillis. La masia:s Maximino Cesario showed great skill when he stopped Gu Ang Xiang:s penalty. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reinard Vervaeck got free with Maximino Cesario in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kent Stuckens took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eleuterio Urbez. Eleuterio Urbez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After the first half La masia were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sapitos's players were relieved. 54 minutes into the match, Sapitos's goalkeeper Eleuterio Urbez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Youri Horemans. Maximino Cesario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vic Deckkers in the 56th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Denver Light in the 57th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by La masia's Youri Horemans. With a little luck, Sapitos's Eleuterio Urbez got control of the ball when Georg Gustavsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute, Lennert Hombroeckx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Eleuterio Urbez managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when La masia's Georg Gustavsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 78thth minute of the game Stan Carpenter who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La masia's Maximino Cesario was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 80 minutes La masia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gu Ang Xiang who took care of the corner kick. The audience was convinced that Stan Carpenter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maximino Cesario was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. In the 87th minute of the match Sapitos got a corner. La masia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gu Ang Xiang ran over to the corner to take the kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reinard Vervaeck in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maximino Cesario prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
