In the 22nd minute, Antonio Cempeners hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute Antonio Cempeners shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gillis Degens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gillis Degens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joey Verdun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gillis Degens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joey Verdun in the 28th minute of play. But to his dismay, Antonio Cempeners quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, KFC Welden's Raf De Weijngaert got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Blue Beast's Tjorven Caspers took a good shot, in the 33rd minute, which hit the crossbar above Gillis Degens's head, and flew over the goal. KFC Welden's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Blue Beast. Antonio Cempeners might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gillis Degens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antonio Cempeners ran back to his position shaking his head. Gillis Degens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Cempeners, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. KFC Welden's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Raf De Weijngaert in the 40th minute. In the 44th minute, Klaus Colebrants hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. KFC Welden's Raf De Weijngaert got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Blue Beast's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Raf De Weijngaert was slow to take the kick. During this time KFC Welden's players had a chance to rest. The corner led KFC Welden's Raf De Weijngaert to fire away a dangerous shot which Eddy Huijgens despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
In the 54th minute, Frederik Van Beringhen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KFC Welden fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In the 63rd minute Blue Beast were awarded a corner. Tjorven Caspers went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Blue Beast's Brain Van den Sande to fire away a dangerous shot which Gillis Degens despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by KFC Welden's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tjorven Caspers was slow to take the kick. During this time Blue Beast's players had a chance to rest. Blue Beast's Tjorven Caspers was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gillis Degens in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gillis Degens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tjorven Caspers, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Fernand De Spiegeleire notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Blue Beast's Eddy Huijgens. Eddy Huijgens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tjorven Caspers made a great header on Blue Beast's corner, it was just that KFC Welden's Gillis Degens managed to reach the ball for a save. Tjorven Caspers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Gillis Degens made a huge save. KFC Welden's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
