Veselin Bolić ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute, Isak Memišević hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute, Veselin Bolić ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sakib Duro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Hakija Serdarević hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the match, Crvena Zvezda's goal looked a bit too open when Elvir Kazazić came free, but Sakib Duro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Faik Mehadžić's late challenge caught a Vilic's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Faik Mehadžić helped the player get up and apologised. After 37 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Crvena Zvezda! The referee gave Vilic a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Emir Taksimović, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Crvena Zvezda's Sakib Duro. 1-2. Fahir Bijelić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hivzo Redžepović having to interfere. Veselin Bolić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Sakib Duro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fahir Bijelić was the one to do the kick off. Tarik Marinović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Hivzo Redžepović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hivzo Redžepović stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fahir Bijelić's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Tarik Marinović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hivzo Redžepović having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Fahir Bijelić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crvena Zvezda's supporters rose to their feet, but Fahir Bijelić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hivzo Redžepović breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Crvena Zvezda fans' excitement grew in the 68th match minute when Crvena Zvezda's Fahir Bijelić looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Meho Urukalo kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Zufer Janjiš dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sakib Duro, 2-3. In the 81st minute Fahir Bijelić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hivzo Redžepović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Tarik Marinović had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hivzo Redžepović. Vilic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tarik Marinović was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. In the 90th minute, Tarik Marinović got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Crvena Zvezda's Sakib Duro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elvir Kazazić in the 97th minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
