With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rouven Welser prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Justo Santiago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute, George Ambjörnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlo Seiderer during the 19th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Dennis Küblböck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wertschach's supporters rose to their feet, but Dennis Küblböck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maximilian-Michael Gabriel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 41 minutes into the match, Wertschach's goal looked a bit too open when Dominik Memmert came free, but Rouven Welser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wertschach's Rouven Welser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominik Memmert in the 42nd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
