In the 20th minute, one of Lerz:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lerz. Bernhard Denniger went to the wrong direction when Joaquim Leiria was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Bernhard Denniger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Leiria in the 22nd minute of play. Marko Burkhardt charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marko Burkhardt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of AKSARAY SPOR:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lerz:s goal. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joaquim Leiria to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Lerz's goalkeeper Bernhard Denniger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lerz reached it. 94 minutes into the game, Lerz's Ingo Ausweger nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ralf von Halem made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. AKSARAY SPOR played a much better game than Lerz and deserved their victory. The Lerz players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
