Sascha Wirth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norman Knüwe in the 4th minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC XALKO's Steffen Rampp got a free kick in the 6th minute. Steffen Pöck might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sascha Wirth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Steffen Pöck ran back to his position shaking his head. FC XALKO's Sascha Wirth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norman Knüwe in the 11th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Steffen Pöck in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sascha Wirth saved FC XALKO from getting behind. In the 15th minute Norman Knüwe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sascha Wirth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sergio Seidl who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Jan Konsel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to FC XALKO getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Steffen Rampp hit a great ball. After 26 played minutes, Hippach's Guido Kapzan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sascha Wirth came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hippach reached it. Sergio Seidl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frederik Strunk struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Jan Konsel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC XALKO. 0-1 became the score in the 32nd minute when Steffen Pöck elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of Hippach booed when FC XALKO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steffen Rampp didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Hippach's Guido Kapzan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Steffen Pöck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Sascha Wirth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Steffen Pöck came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Hippach fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steffen Pöck couldn't finish the play. After 43 played minutes FC XALKO got a freekick which was hit by Mark Ibertsberger. In the 44th minute of the match Guido Kapzan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sascha Wirth showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tom Rüschenbaum kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The FC XALKO players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hippach were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Steffen Pöck to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steffen Pöck in the 54th minute of play forced FC XALKO's goalkeeper Sascha Wirth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 57 minutes, Norman Knüwe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hippach's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norman Knüwe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sascha Wirth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steffen Pöck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sascha Wirth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steffen Pöck in the 65th minute of play. The supporters of Hippach booed when FC XALKO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralf Durr didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan Konsel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederik Strunk in the 70th minute of the match. With his leg Sascha Wirth managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Hippach's Norman Knüwe fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Vincent Patschull hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Norman Knüwe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in FC XALKO's zone, Steffen Pöck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sascha Wirth came out of the goal and Steffen Pöck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Steffen Pöck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steffen Pöck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan Konsel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederik Strunk, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Hippach walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
