Spectators: 7600 (Terracing: 5817, Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Stefan Rösler kicked off to start the match. Paal's Frederik Kirchler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Rösler in the 6th minute of play. Stefan Rösler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute Stefan Rösler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederik Kirchler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Ralf Abendroth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Holger Austerer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Mayer having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Paal's Lukas Fackiner got a free kick in the 39th minute. Stefan Pezold's late challenge caught a Edelseeberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Frederik Kirchler. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Paal booed when Edelseeberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robin Schöttel didn't get a good kick on the ball.
