After 14 minutes, Sven Steffen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Edelseeberg and the Kuthei FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th minute, Lothar Hensel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute Robin Hiemer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralf Mayer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Edelseeberg's goalkeeper Ralf Mayer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, one of Kuthei FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kuthei FC. When the match had been going on for 35 minutes, Edelseeberg's Lothar Krapols got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Andreas Herzog. The audience was convinced that Robin Hiemer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ralf Mayer was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. After having played for 43 minutes, Jan Muring managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kuthei FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Muring was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute of the match Till Janssen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ralf Mayer skillfully saved the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Jan Muring charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan Muring the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Edelseeberg booed when Kuthei FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Muring didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute, Robin Hiemer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jan Muring received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Ralf Mayer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robin Hiemer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ralf Mayer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Jan Muring might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ralf Mayer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan Muring ran back to his position shaking his head. When Jan Muring came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Kuthei FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Muring couldn't finish the play. 96 minutes into the game, Robin Hiemer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Ralf Mayer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match was over Kuthei FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Edelseeberg throughout the match.
