The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Wolfau FSV booed when FC Blümelhub was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robin-Pascal Prause didn't get a good kick on the ball. Holger Kürten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Marc-André Arendt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Andreas Korsus struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Marc-André Arendt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wolfau FSV. 60 minutes into the game, Aki Weihs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wolfau FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Blümelhub the free kick. After 61 played minutes Wolfau FSV got a freekick which was hit by Aki Weihs. Jan-Hauke Böhringer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Partsch in the 66th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Holger Kürten's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marc-André Arendt was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Benjamin Partsch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Hauke Böhringer having to interfere.
