Denis Paschmanns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Kuefer, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After 11 played minutes, Kleinrust FC's Andi Rothstein shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Denis Paschmanns came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kleinrust FC reached it. Georg Schuster struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Björn Koehler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kapfenberg 1919. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonard Schreyer in the 34th minute of play forced Kapfenberg 1919's goalkeeper Denis Paschmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sören Seiderer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stefan Welser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Björn Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oliver Kuefer to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Kleinrust FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Jani came free, but Björn Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Kleinrust FC's zone, Stefan Welser stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Björn Koehler came out of the goal and Stefan Welser tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stefan Welser recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 58 minutes into the game, Kapfenberg 1919's Fabian Jani nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Björn Koehler made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 62nd minute Stefan Welser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Björn Koehler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Welser in the 66th minute of play forced Kleinrust FC's goalkeeper Björn Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denis Paschmanns made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Leonard Schreyer sent off a good shot on target. Tim-Florian Ramusch kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Leonard Schreyer came free with the goalkeeper in the 72nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Denis Paschmanns could save by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabian Jani in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Björn Koehler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stefan Welser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Björn Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Leonard Schreyer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Denis Paschmanns, 1-1. When Leonard Schreyer came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Kleinrust FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonard Schreyer couldn't finish the play. Denis Paschmanns was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Oliver Kuefer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Oliver Kuefer really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Denis Paschmanns made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonard Schreyer in the 97th minute.
