After 5 minutes, Mats-Alexander Berghorn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nitzling and the Fussball Revolution 2020 players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Fussball Revolution 2020 booed when Nitzling was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mats-Alexander Berghorn didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Christopher Renkewitz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fussball Revolution 2020's supporters rose to their feet, but Christopher Renkewitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frederik Grunewald breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Nitzling's zone, Christopher Renkewitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frederik Grunewald came out of the goal and Christopher Renkewitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christopher Renkewitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Frederik Grunewald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torsten John in the 13th minute of play forced Fussball Revolution 2020's goalkeeper Per Münks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Fussball Revolution 2020's Mats Pliso got a free kick in the 14th minute. Christopher Renkewitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frederik Grunewald made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christopher Renkewitz in the 24th minute. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christopher Renkewitz was the one to do the kick off. Frederik Grunewald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mats Pliso in the 52nd minute of play. Fussball Revolution 2020's Christopher Renkewitz got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Fussball Revolution 2020 getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Tom Schriebl hit a great ball. Christopher Renkewitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederik Grunewald having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Nitzling's Torsten John sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Per Münks narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Frederik Grunewald came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Fussball Revolution 2020's Christopher Renkewitz. But to his dismay, Christopher Renkewitz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Christopher Renkewitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Frederik Grunewald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frederik Grunewald stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christopher Renkewitz's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. In the 80th minute Torsten John shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per Münks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd match minute, Fussball Revolution 2020 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mats Pliso to maneuver through the defense.
