Rouven Doual stood somewhat misplaced when Peter Gerken came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 43 minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Dennis-Sven Mierzwa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Voitsberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Dennis-Sven Mierzwa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
