If Max Josten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th match minute, Grosspoppen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Grasser to maneuver through the defense. Nils Kienast's late challenge caught a Strahlendes Fukushima FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nils Kienast helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Strahlendes Fukushima FC booed when Grosspoppen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils Kienast didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Strahlendes Fukushima FC's Tim Pürk got control of the ball when Klaus Thomanek tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tommy Grasser kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Heiko Bürger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Strahlendes Fukushima FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heiko Bürger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Strahlendes Fukushima FC's Max Josten got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Max Josten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Simon Grundmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simon Grundmann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Max Josten's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Max Josten in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Simon Grundmann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Simon Grundmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Josten in the 31st minute of play. Max Josten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Klaus Thomanek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Max Josten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Klaus Thomanek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Pürk having to interfere. Tim Pürk came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Grosspoppen's Matthias Sülzner. But to his dismay, Matthias Sülzner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Max Josten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Simon Grundmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Max Josten in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Strahlendes Fukushima FC's Niklas Behrens seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Niklas Behrens the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Strahlendes Fukushima FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Niklas Behrens had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. If Steffen Amsel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steffen Amsel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Tim Pürk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Klaus Thomanek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grosspoppen's supporters rose to their feet, but Klaus Thomanek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tim Pürk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Steffen Amsel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Pürk having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Klaus Thomanek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tim Pürk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tim Pürk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steffen Amsel in the 84th minute of the match. Klaus Thomanek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Klaus Thomanek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Strahlendes Fukushima FC's goal looked a bit too open when Steffen Amsel came free, but Tim Pürk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Strahlendes Fukushima FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Grosspoppen.
