Spectators: 7175 (Terracing: 5250, Seating: 1785, VIP seats: 140) Hajduk's Josef Nagel started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Peter Hörtnagel might have been able to make a better finish in the 2nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sascha Wattmann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Peter Hörtnagel ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Hajduk's Sascha Wattmann got control of the ball when Torsten Garbsch tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sascha Wattmann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Peter Hörtnagel's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Hajduk's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Hörtnagel came free, but Sascha Wattmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Peter Pröger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hajduk's supporters rose to their feet, but Peter Pröger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonard Busche breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Hajduk's Josef Nagel in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ausserbraz FSV's goalie prevented a goal. Torsten Garbsch in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sascha Wattmann, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Torsten Garbsch might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sascha Wattmann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Torsten Garbsch ran back to his position shaking his head. In the last second Sascha Wattmann throw himself and got hold of the ball when Peter Hörtnagel in the 28thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peter Hörtnagel in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sascha Wattmann saved Hajduk from getting behind. 32 minutes into the match, Hajduk's goalkeeper Sascha Wattmann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Torsten Garbsch. Torsten Garbsch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Sascha Wattmann made a huge save. Gerhard Schuhmacher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Torsten Garbsch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Sascha Wattmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 52nd minute, Peter Hörtnagel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sascha Wattmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Torsten Garbsch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sascha Wattmann having to interfere. After 68 minutes of play, Ausserbraz FSV's Peter Hörtnagel made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sascha Wattmann was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Josef Nagel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80thth minute of the game Torsten Garbsch who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hajduk's Sascha Wattmann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Peter Pröger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonard Busche having to make a save. Sascha Wattmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torsten Garbsch, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. After a rather tough play, Ausserbraz FSV's Till-Julius Teucke got a free kick in the 95th minute.
