Dustin Pfeifenberger might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonard Busche. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The audience was convinced that Leo Strobl's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonard Busche was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. The referee ignored FC Barcelona's protests and gave Rouven Grun a yellow card for diving instead. Rouven Grun kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. If Leo Strobl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dustin Pfeifenberger made a kick off. Torsten Garbsch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Benjamin Richardsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peter Hörtnagel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Richardsen having to interfere. In the 56th minute Torsten Garbsch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Richardsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
